8K TV FAQs

What is an 8K TV?

An 8K TV is any TV with a total resolution of 7,680 by 4,320 pixels. The higher pixel count of an 8K TV is around four times the pixel count of a 4K TV. As a result, 8K TVs are pretty much the ultimate option when it comes to enjoying UHD content.

Many 8K TVs are capable of upscaling 4K content as you watch it, so that you can make the most of the vast increase in fidelity!

Is 8K better than 4K?

In terms of pure resolution, 8K is a massive upgrade when compared to 4K. 8K TVs boast four times the number of pixels as standard 4K TVs, which allows them to display content with much more detail in every frame.

The difference in fidelity between a 4K and 8K TV is significant enough to more than justify the increase in price.

How do you watch content in 8K?

With 8K TV technology still being relatively new, not much content is produced with a native 8K resolution in mind. Instead, many films, shows, and games are produced with a 4K resolution in mind. However, you can find some 8K content on platforms like YouTube to make the most of the resolution.

Luckily, many 8K TVs come with automatic upscaling, which allows you to enjoy 8K content as though it were natively 8K. This upscaling is carried out within the TV itself, so it can be enjoyed on pretty much any content you can think of!

What size TV is best for 8K?

8K televisions pack in millions of individual pixels, so it’s worth grabbing a larger TV to leave space for those pixels to spread out.

8K resolutions tend to look much better on TVs over 77 inches in size. At this scale, the 8K pixels can more easily spread out.

8K images are incredibly immersive, so you can maximise the immersion of 8K content by displaying it on the largest screens possible!
