Corner Desk FAQs
Are corner desks & L shaped desks the same?
Corner desks and L-shaped desks are very often used for the same reasons, but they aren’t exactly the same.
L-shaped desks, naturally fit perfectly into corners, so they’re very often referred to as simply “Corner desks”, however, L-shaped desks are not designed specifically for corners, and can be positioned anywhere in your office space.
Corner desks, on the other hand, are designed specifically to fit into corners, but they don’t always take on an “L” shape. For instance, you can find many triangular corner desks!
What are the benefits of corner desks?
Of course, one of the best things about corner desks is that they fit into more unconventional spaces. Having a desk in the corner helps you to save massive amounts of floor space to create a more spacious office environment.
Corner desks also often have much wider work surfaces, so they’re perfect for all kinds of work. The wider surface makes multitasking and collaborative work easier than ever!
Corner desks don’t have to be shoved right into the darkest recesses of the office space, but can instead be cleverly arranged to create collaborative workspaces that foster social interaction.
Where to put a corner desk in your office?
Corner desks, naturally, fit perfectly into the small corners of your office space, but that’s not the only place you can put them! Corner desks can easily be placed in the centre of a room, or can be organised around other corner desks to create a collaborative workspace.
Ultimately, where you choose to put your corner desk will depend on your unique needs. For instance, if you’re working from a desktop computer, you’ll need access to a nearby plug socket. If your work often requires collaboration, then it’s worth arranging your corner desks accordingly!
How to arrange a corner desk?
Corner desks offer loads of space across their surfaces, so you’ll want to arrange your stuff so that you can make the most of it. Try to reserve the desk surface itself for only the most important items, like your computer, and any documents you’re currently working on. Anything you’re not currently using should be stored away, perhaps in a nearby set of drawers!
It’s also worth making the most of the “Left & Right” shape of the desk. For instance, you could have your computer on the right side of the desk, while all of the documents and other loose items are gathered on the left side. This lets you more easily manage larger projects without cluttering the work surface!
